  10:00AM 3:00PM Ninth Annual Multicultural Celebration   At Central Valley High School. Free admission. Features ethnic food and entertainment, cultural and community booths, and student art. All celebrate diversity.
 
  5:00PM 9:30PM Burns Night Supper   It's the 15th annual event from the Shasta Celtic Society, at the Holiday Inn. It honors the life and works of Scottish poet Robert Burns. It features poetry, singing, dancing, music and bagpipes. Also, a dinner buffet with traditional food, including haggis. Tickets are 45 dollars. The deadline to reserve a space is January 24th.
 
  5:30PM 9:00PM Chinese New Year Celebration   It's happening at the Weaverville Veteran's Memorial Hall. Ring in the Year of the Dragon. Cost is 50 dollars. It includes a dim sum meal, cocktails, live and silent auctions, and an art exhibit, with pieces by local high school students. Proceeds fund scholarships for local high school seniors.
 
  7:00PM 11:55PM Mardi Gras   Put on by Soroptimist International of Redding at the Convention Center. Tickets are 10 dollars. It features dancing, roulette, bingo, blackjack, and craps. Dinner, a dessert bar, and cocktails will also be available at a separate charge. All proceeds toward scholarship and community projects.
 
  8:00PM 10:00PM Torpedoes Concert   Happening at the Vintage Wine Bar and Restaurant, at 1790 Market Street. Free rock music!
 
  8:00PM 11:00PM Kelly Thibodeaux and Buddy Sawyer Concert   At the Mamma Llama coffeehouse, 490 Main St in Weaverville. Cost is 10 to 12 dollars. Louisiana fiddler Thibodeaux and guitarist sawyer perform R & B and southern rock sounds, also known as swamp rock.
